Blog Withdrawal!

Okay, so I'm seriously going through withdrawal from not blogging! I can't believe I haven't posted anything in almost A WEEK! Geesh!!! So, since the last time that I posted, I turned another year older and I went out of town for four days. I had very limited access to the internet while I was in North Carolina and I feel like all I've done since I got back has been GO GO GO! I'm starting to realize that our summer has filled up with plans faster than I ever imagined! I'm afraid it's going to go by too fast! I can already tell that I am going to have to put in some extra effort to keep up with my resolutions this summer.

But... just because I've been out of town doesn't mean I've been slacking (too much!) on my list. I have been able to cross a few things off... now I just have to catch up on posts! Anyway, last week, I spent two nights doing nothing but watching the last 5 episodes of Grey's Anatomy online. My husband and I decided in March to cancel our cable. We were hardly watching TV and didn't feel like we were getting our money's worth out of it every month. We also haven't gotten any rabbit ears for our TV either. At the time I thought I would just keep watching the shows I had been watching on TV... online. It was funny how I thought I'd miss those shows, and then I guess never did because I hadn't watched anything online until last week.

I felt like I had to put it on my list to watch Grey's Anatomy because every time all my girlfriends would start talking about the season finale I would have to shoosh them! I knew if it didn't make it on my list, I would keep putting it off until it wasn't available online anymore. So, now I've watched all the episodes I had missed... and HOLY COW! Was NOT expecting all of that in the season finale! I think I'll probably keep up with the shows online next season.

I'm also crossing a small thing off my list tonight as well. I finally put a nail file, a pair of tweezers and some nail clippers in my purse. Those are the three items I find myself wishing I had in my purse over and over and over again and I'm always so annoyed with myself that I never keep a set in there! So, now they are in my purse in their own little pouch so that I can always find them with ease.

There are some other things on my list that are in progress. Currently it is "spring" cleaning my house. I'll post about this when I'm completely done and can cross it off. Today/tonight I tackled everything on my kitchen list (I broke everything down by "whole house" items and then by room). It's 12:42 a.m. and I'm still up because I have the oven on "self cleaning" mode and it still has thirty minutes left.... shoot me now! I have all the downstairs windows open, the range hood fan on and the ceiling fan on and I still feel a little loopy from the fumes! Suffice it to say I have never, ever cleaned an oven (by hand or otherwise) in my life, so I wasn't really sure what this would entail!

Okay, but just so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment before I collapse in my bed in twenty nine minutes, here is the list of things I did in the kitchen (by far the most involved of all the rooms!)
  • Wipe down cabinets
  • Clean fridge coils & vacuum behind fridge
  • Clean out and wipe down the inside of the fridge
  • Clean drawer organizers and silverware holder
  • Wipe down walls
  • Wipe down chairs
  • Clean & polish table
  • Clean trash can
  • Clean inside of dishwasher
  • Wipe down inside of exterior doors
  • Clean inside & out of microwave
  • Clean out & wipe down inside of lazy susan cabinet
  • Wipe down spice rack
  • Dust upper cabinet tops
  • Organize pantry
  • Clean under sink
  • Wipe down counter tops, sink & stove top
  • Clean dish rack & pan
  • Put out new sponge

I've never done a whole house type spring cleaning before. I have thoughts to share on this, but not tonight. It's time for me to go pass out now.

  1. For your spices,I prefer an under cabinet vintage spice rack, I know it's unique and antique but it helps you save spaces and stack more spices. great blog by the way!

  2. Oooh! Good suggestion. I wasn't sure what that was, I just had to Google it! ha ha I like it though. It would be nice to have ours off the counter. We got it for a wedding gift, and I like the way it looks, but it gets dusty and it's hard to clean. I'll have to check those under cabinet racks out! Thanks!

  3. Talking about efficiency and space saving. This spice rack sure does make our spices more organize and accessible.
